“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” Colossians 3:12-13 NKJV
God asks you and I to put on the character of the new man. You can put them on because you are empowered by the new life in Christ Jesus.
What are those characteristics we are to put on?
- Tender mercies, meaning compassion.
- Kindness: being considerate, generous and friendly.
- Humility: being modest in your view of your importance
- Meekness: being submissive, teachable and gentle
- Long suffering: patient in spite of troubles
- Bearing with one another
- Forbearing one another
- Forgiving one another
- Love
- Allowing the peace of God rule in our hearts
- Be thankful
- Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly
- Do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus with thanksgiving
Father, give me the grace and the courage to walk in the new man daily for the rest of my life in Jesus’ name.
Kingdom Blessing!
